Egypt Adds Four State-Owned Companies to Privatization Program

Egypt has officially added four state-owned companies to its ongoing privatization program as the government seeks to attract investment, improve efficiency, and strengthen the economy.

Three of the newly listed firms operate in the petroleum sector:

• Engineering for Petroleum and Chemical Industries (ENPPI)
• Egyptian Linear Alkyl Benzene Company (ELAB)
• Petroleum Marine Services (PMS)

The fourth company is Maamoura for Reconstruction and Tourism Development, which operates in the real estate and tourism sectors.

The move is part of Egypt’s broader economic reform strategy aimed at increasing private-sector participation, reducing the state's role in certain industries, and attracting both domestic and foreign investors.

The privatization program has become a key pillar of Egypt’s efforts to boost investment, improve government finances, and support long-term economic growth. Investors will closely monitor the timing and structure of potential stake sales in these companies, particularly within the energy sector, which remains one of the country’s most strategic industries.
