Apple is reportedly preparing major hardware upgrades over the next two years, including its first touchscreen MacBook Pro and increased memory for future iPhones.

According to reports, Apple is developing a touchscreen MacBook Pro targeted for release between late 2026 and early 2027. The device is expected to feature M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, while a follow-up model using the M7 chip is also being considered. Analysts suggest Apple could skip the M6 Pro and M6 Max generations as the company adjusts its product roadmap and manages memory supply constraints.

Meanwhile, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo expects Apple to increase DRAM capacity in lower-end iPhone models. Entry-level iPhones powered by the A20 chip in the first half of 2027 could receive 9GB of memory, up from the current 8GB found in A19-based devices.

The additional memory would support more advanced on-device artificial intelligence features, improved multitasking, and enhanced performance for future Apple Intelligence capabilities.

These reported upgrades indicate Apple's growing focus on AI-driven computing across its product lineup, with more memory, improved silicon, and new form factors expected to play a central role in upcoming devices.
