Shell has chartered a liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipment of approximately 155,000 cubic meters from Egypt’s Idku LNG plant to Italy, highlighting its pivotal role in global LNG trade and energy supply security.
In addition, ONGC is reportedly in discussions with Shell and other international companies regarding the development of the East Coast KG 98/2 block in India, a project aimed at boosting domestic oil production and enhancing strategic energy partnerships.
On the technological front, on October 11, 2025, Reach Subsea’s Reach Remote 1 Uncrewed Surface Vessel began operations for Shell at the Ormen Lange field. The vessel operates independently after receiving a trading permit, marking a significant step forward in autonomous offshore operations and demonstrating Shell’s commitment to innovation in energy production and subsea technology.
These initiatives reflect Shell’s ongoing strategy to expand LNG trade, develop key upstream assets, and integrate cutting-edge technology across its global operations.
