Gold prices, which had surged by NPR 5,900 per tola in a single day on Wednesday, saw a limited decline on Friday. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association, the price of gold has been set at NPR 249,700 per tola today, down from NPR 250,200 the previous day. A few days ago, on Asoj 31, gold had reached an all-time high of NPR 258,000 per tola.
Similarly, silver prices have also dropped. The association has fixed the price of silver at NPR 3,285 per tola, which is NPR 60 lower than the previous day’s rate of NPR 3,345. Silver had previously recorded a high of NPR 3,350 per tola on Asoj 31.
Business experts note that fluctuations in the international market, raw material costs, and geopolitical risks have contributed to increased volatility in gold and silver prices.
