Trinity Metals is planning an international stock market listing to raise between $100 million and $200 million as the Rwandan mining company accelerates expansion across its tin, tungsten and tantalum operations while advancing a major lithium project.
Chief Executive Peter Geleta said the company is targeting a listing on the New York Stock Exchange within the next 12 to 18 months, citing strong investor appetite for critical minerals and deeper liquidity in U.S. markets.
The company has rapidly expanded since consolidating three mining assets in 2022, including the Nyakabingo tungsten mine, the Rutongo tin operation and the Musha tin-tantalum license. Management said production has already quadrupled as operations shift from artisanal mining toward industrial-scale development.
Trinity plans to invest around $150 million over the next three years in new processing infrastructure and underground mine development. A proposed $50 million processing plant at Nyakabingo — Africa’s largest tungsten operation — could begin operations by the end of 2027 and significantly increase output.
The company aims to triple monthly production of both tin and tungsten to roughly 300 metric tons each within the next three to five years.
Geleta said strong global prices, especially for tungsten, continue to support expansion plans after export restrictions from China tightened global supply conditions. China currently accounts for the majority of worldwide tungsten production.
Trinity stated that all of its production is sold to buyers in the United States, Europe and Thailand, with no exports going to China. The company added that it has already secured long-term supply agreements with Western customers seeking alternative and traceable critical mineral sources.
Beyond its existing 3T mining business, Trinity is also advancing exploration at a large lithium deposit estimated at 70 million to 100 million tons with grades above 1%. Geleta said further drilling could position the project among the world’s top lithium deposits.
The expansion comes as Western governments and manufacturers increasingly seek to diversify critical mineral supply chains away from China amid rising geopolitical and energy-transition pressures.
