Chewy Price Target Cut Slightly, But Analysts Still See Strong Upside

Chewy remains one of Wall Street’s more bullish e-commerce plays, even as analysts slightly trimmed their average price target on the stock.

According to estimates from 21 analysts, Chewy’s average price target declined marginally from $40.38 to $40.10 per share, with forecasts ranging from as low as $28 to as high as $50.

Despite the small reduction in targets, sentiment around the online pet-products retailer remains firmly positive. Based on Chewy’s May 22 closing price, the revised consensus target still implies roughly 93% upside potential for the stock.

The broader analyst consensus also continues to hold at a “Buy” rating. Among 31 analysts covering the company, 25 recommend buying the stock, while six maintain hold ratings. No analysts currently rate the shares as a sell.

Investors remain focused on Chewy’s ability to expand profitability, grow its autoship subscription business, and maintain customer loyalty in a competitive consumer environment. Analysts have also pointed to improving margins and resilient spending in the pet-care industry as supportive factors for the company’s longer-term outlook.
