White House Physician Says Trump Remains in Excellent Health Following Medical Examination

U.S. President Donald Trump remains in excellent health and is fully capable of carrying out the duties of the presidency, according to a medical memo released by the White House on Friday following a recent examination.

The report, prepared by White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella after Trump's visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center earlier this week, stated that the 79-year-old president continues to demonstrate strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical health.

"President Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function," Barbabella wrote, adding that the president is "fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State."

Minor Health Conditions Noted

The physician's report noted that Trump continues to experience slight swelling in his lower legs, although the condition has improved compared with last year.

The memo also referenced ongoing bruising on the president's hands, describing it as benign and consistent with minor soft-tissue irritation caused by frequent handshaking while taking low-dose aspirin for cardiovascular prevention.

According to the report, neither condition raises significant medical concerns.

Medical Visit Draws Attention

Trump's visit to Walter Reed marked his third medical evaluation in the past 13 months and attracted public attention after previous photographs showed swollen ankles, bruising on his hands, and skin discoloration around his neck.

Following the examination, Trump told reporters that "everything checked out perfectly."

The latest medical update did not provide additional information regarding skin treatment reportedly performed on the president's neck earlier this year and did not indicate whether a new MRI scan was conducted.

Cardiovascular and Cognitive Health Assessed

The report stated that Trump's cardiac function remains normal and that a comprehensive neurological examination found no abnormalities.

Doctors reported normal mental status and said screenings for depression and anxiety produced normal results.

The evaluation also included preventive health recommendations, including maintaining a healthy diet, increasing physical activity, continuing weight-loss efforts, and taking low-dose aspirin as part of cardiovascular risk management.

Health Profile

According to the medical memo:

  • Age: 79 (turning 80 next month)
  • Height: 6 feet 3 inches (190 cm)
  • Weight: 238 pounds (108 kg)
  • Cardiac function: Normal
  • Neurological assessment: Normal
  • Mental health screening: Normal

Trump, who became the oldest person to assume the U.S. presidency, has frequently highlighted his health and energy levels, often contrasting them with those of former President Joe Biden, who left office last year at age 82.

The White House said the latest examination confirms that the president remains in strong physical and cognitive condition as he continues his second term in office.
