RITES Ltd has secured a ₹45.19 crore consultancy contract from the Public Works (Roads) Directorate, Government of West Bengal, for project management services related to the construction of a proposed four-lane extra-dosed bridge over the Muriganga River.

The project will involve consultancy services as the Project Management Consultant (PMC) for the construction of the bridge, along with approach roads that will connect Kachuberia on Sagar Island with Kakdwip in the South 24 Parganas district. The infrastructure project is expected to significantly improve regional connectivity and transportation access in the area.

Under the agreement, RITES will be responsible for design and construction supervision, acting as the Authority Engineer for the project. The company will oversee various aspects of the bridge development to ensure the project is executed according to engineering standards and project timelines.

According to the company’s regulatory filing, the order has been awarded by a domestic government entity and will be executed over a 48-month period. The total contract value stands at ₹45.19 crore, excluding GST. RITES clarified that neither its promoter group nor related companies have any interest in the awarding authority, confirming the transaction as an arm’s-length government contract.

Additional Railway Electrification Work

In a separate development, RITES also received revised project estimates from South Western Railway for railway electrification work associated with the Mysuru–Hassan–Mangaluru railway line, including the Hassan–Arsikere section.

The work has been awarded on a cost-plus turnkey basis, covering electrification infrastructure along the key railway corridor. The revised cost of the project is ₹729.28 crore, excluding GST, which includes RITES’ service fees. The electrification initiative aims to enhance railway efficiency, reduce operational costs, and support environmentally sustainable transportation across the region.
