NLIC Proposes Robust 21.05% Dividend for FY 2081/82

Kathmandu, Mangsir 25. Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC), one of the country's leading insurers, has announced a substantial dividend proposal for the fiscal year 2081/82, totaling Rs. 1.90 Arba.

The decision was made during the company's 404th meeting of the Board of Directors held on Mangsir 24. The proposed distribution includes a 16.05% cash dividend (which includes tax) and a 5% bonus share dividend, combining for a total payout of 21.05%.

This dividend is proposed on the company's existing paid-up capital of Rs. 9.02 Arba. If approved, the payout will be a significant return to the shareholders who have invested in the company.

It is important to note that this dividend proposal is still subject to approval from both the sector regulator, the Nepal Insurance Authority, and the shareholders at the company's upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM). The final decision and the book closure dates for eligibility will be communicated after these approvals are secured.

In today's trading on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), NLIC's shares closed at Rs. 822.80.

The announcement reinforces NLIC's position as a consistent dividend payer in the financial sector, reflecting its sustained profitability and commitment to shareholder value. Market analysts and investors will now await the final regulatory and shareholder green light for the distribution.
