Kathmandu — The price of gold in Nepal witnessed a notable increase today, rising by Rs. 700 per tola to reach Rs. 239,700 per tola, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA). The previous day’s price stood at Rs. 239,000 per tola.
Similarly, the price of Tejabi gold, a popular variant in the Nepali market, has also seen an uptick, now valued at Rs. 239,000 per tola, up from Rs. 238,300 per tola the previous day.
Silver Prices Decline Slightly
In contrast, silver prices have edged down by Rs. 5 per tola, with the new rate standing at Rs. 3,055 per tola, compared to Rs. 3,060 per tola on the preceding day.
Market Outlook
The rise in gold prices is attributed to fluctuations in the international bullion market and changes in global investor sentiment amid ongoing economic uncertainties. Gold continues to be a preferred investment choice for Nepali consumers, particularly during the festival and wedding seasons.
Traders and analysts note that the current upward momentum could sustain in the short term, depending on the movement of the US dollar index, interest rates, and global inflation trends.
