Kathmandu, Nepal – API Power Company Limited, a pioneer in Nepal’s renewable energy sector for over 22 years, has commenced construction of its new central office, ‘API Tower’, in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu. The project, set on a 20-anna plot, is expected to be completed within two years and will house the offices of API Power and its subsidiaries, reflecting the company’s commitment to institutional strength, transparency, and investor confidence.
Established in 2059 BS, API Power has made significant contributions to Nepal’s energy sector, adding 56.5 MW of hydropower and 6 MW of solar power to the national grid. Its notable projects include Upper Chamelia, Upper Naudagad, Chandranigahapur, Dhalkebar, and the Simara solar plant. The company has also invested in affiliated ventures such as Suryakund Hydro and Darchula Power, with some projects preparing for upcoming IPO launches.
Chairperson Srijana Khadka underlined API Power’s commitment to sustainable energy, investor protection, and Nepal’s energy self-reliance, highlighting that API Tower marks a milestone in the company’s institutional consolidation. Company executives added that plans are underway to expand hydropower and solar energy investments in the coming years, strengthening API Power’s role in shaping Nepal’s renewable energy landscape.
The construction of API Tower is expected to further enhance operational efficiency, provide a central hub for the company’s activities, and symbolize its growing prominence in Nepal’s energy sector.
