Deposit Collection Plan
Amid sustained high liquidity in the financial system, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced plans to collect NPR 50 billion through a deposit auction on Sunday. The central bank will conduct the auction for a tenure of 84 days using its deposit collection instruments.
Eligible Participants
Banks and financial institutions classified under ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’ categories and permitted by NRB can participate in the auction. Bids must be submitted via online bidding software by 2:00 PM on the day of the auction.
Bidding Rules
- The minimum bid amount is NPR 10 crore.
- The maximum bid is limited to the portion of funds that can be allocated without exceeding the bank’s residual deposit limit, up to NPR 5 crore per participant.
Collateral and Deposit Placement
Funds collected through the auction can be held as collateral at NRB or at other banks, according to the regulations set by the central bank.
