Dr Reddy’s Launches Generic Bosutinib Tablets in US Market

Dr Reddy’s Laboratories has announced the launch of Bosutinib Tablets 400 mg in the United States, expanding its oncology portfolio and strengthening its presence in the market for cancer treatments.

The Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company said the product is a generic equivalent of Bosulif, a medication used to treat adults with Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph+) Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML), a type of blood cancer.

Partnership With MSN Laboratories

Dr Reddy’s has partnered with MSN Laboratories Private Limited for the product launch. Under the agreement, MSN is responsible for the development and manufacturing of Bosutinib Tablets, while Dr Reddy’s holds the exclusive marketing rights in the United States.

The collaboration combines MSN’s manufacturing capabilities with Dr Reddy’s established commercial network in the US pharmaceutical market.

Expanding Oncology Portfolio

The launch is part of Dr Reddy’s broader strategy to expand its oncology business and improve patient access to affordable cancer treatments.

Bosutinib is a targeted therapy used in the treatment of Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia and serves as an important option for patients requiring long-term disease management.

According to the company, the reference drug Bosulif recorded approximately $253.8 million in US sales during the 12-month period ending April 2026, highlighting the market opportunity for the generic version.

Company Commentary

Bharat Reddy, Executive Director of MSN Laboratories, said the successful development and commercialization of Bosutinib Tablets reflects the company’s scientific, regulatory, and manufacturing expertise in complex oncology products.

He added that MSN remains focused on delivering high-quality and affordable medicines globally through efficient product development and reliable manufacturing capabilities.

Stock Performance

Shares of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories ended Friday's trading session slightly lower, falling 0.09% or ₹1.15.

Despite the minor decline, the stock has gained approximately 1.7% so far this year, with shares closing at ₹1,272.90. The stock’s 52-week high stands at ₹1,379.70.

Outlook

The launch of generic Bosutinib Tablets further strengthens Dr Reddy’s oncology portfolio in the United States and underscores the company’s focus on expanding access to cost-effective specialty medicines. As demand for oncology treatments continues to grow, the product could provide an additional growth avenue for the pharmaceutical major in one of its key international markets.
