RBL Bank has announced Friday, August 14, 2026, as the record date for determining shareholders eligible to receive the final dividend of ₹1 per equity share for the financial year ended March 31, 2026.
The private sector lender had declared the final dividend while announcing its Q4 FY26 financial results. The payment is subject to approval by shareholders at the bank’s upcoming 83rd Annual General Meeting (AGM), which is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
If shareholders approve the proposal, the dividend is expected to be paid on or before October 1, 2026.
Key Dates for Investors
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| Last day to buy shares for dividend eligibility | Thursday, August 13, 2026 |
| Ex-dividend date | Friday, August 14, 2026 |
| Record date | Friday, August 14, 2026 |
| 83rd AGM | Wednesday, September 2, 2026 |
| Expected dividend payment | On or before October 1, 2026 |
Under India’s T+1 settlement cycle, investors must ensure that shares are credited to their demat accounts by the record date. Therefore, shares purchased on or after August 14, 2026 will not qualify for the final dividend.
Q1 FY27 Results: Profit Jumps 27%
RBL Bank recently reported a strong first-quarter performance for FY27, with profitability and asset quality showing notable improvement.
For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, the bank posted:
- Net profit: ₹254 crore, up 27% year-on-year (YoY)
- Operating profit: ₹923 crore, up 31% YoY
- Net Interest Income (NII): ₹1,654 crore, up 12% YoY
- Net Interest Margin (NIM): 4.13%
Although other income declined 10% YoY to ₹959 crore, the bank’s core fee income grew 16% YoY to ₹923 crore, indicating healthy growth in its core banking operations.
Cost Efficiency Improves Significantly
One of the standout aspects of the quarter was the improvement in operating efficiency.
- Operating expenses fell 8% YoY to ₹1,691 crore
- Cost-to-income ratio improved to 64.7%, compared with 72.4% in the same quarter last year
The decline in expenses helped offset pressure from lower non-core income and supported the increase in operating profit.
Loan Growth Remains Robust
RBL Bank continued to report strong credit growth across its portfolio.
- Net advances: ₹1,16,223 crore, up 23% YoY
- Retail-to-wholesale mix: 55:45
Within the retail portfolio:
- Retail advances: ₹64,196 crore, up 13% YoY
- Secured retail loans: up 18% YoY
- Unsecured retail advances: up 8% YoY
The stronger growth in secured retail lending suggests the bank is continuing to focus on improving the quality and stability of its loan book.
Asset Quality Continues to Strengthen
RBL Bank also reported a substantial improvement in asset quality metrics.
- Gross NPA (GNPA) ratio: 1.30%, improving by 148 basis points YoY
- Net NPA ratio: 0.37%, down 9 basis points YoY
- Provision coverage ratio (including technical write-offs): 94.94%
The sharp decline in bad-loan ratios indicates that the bank has made meaningful progress in cleaning up its balance sheet, a key area of focus for investors over the past few years.
What the Dividend Means
At the current dividend of ₹1 per equity share, the payout is relatively modest, but it signals management’s confidence in the bank’s improving financial position and capital strength.
For shareholders, the immediate focus will be on August 13, which is effectively the last trading day to buy RBL Bank shares and remain eligible for the dividend.
The announcement, combined with improving profitability, stronger loan growth, and better asset quality, suggests that RBL Bank is continuing to strengthen its operating performance as it enters the second half of FY27.
