Boeing has reaffirmed its ability to provide aftermarket parts and maintenance support for China's planned purchase of 200 aircraft, despite ongoing geopolitical tensions and supply chain challenges.

Chris Raymond, CEO of Boeing Global Services, stated that China will be able to access replacement parts and support services for the aircraft as long as those components are permitted for global sale. He noted that Boeing already maintains a parts warehouse in China to support local airline operations.

The comments come after China announced plans to purchase 200 Boeing aircraft following a visit by U.S. President Donald Trump to Beijing earlier this year. Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg has described the order as only an initial tranche of what could become a significantly larger agreement in the future.

Chinese authorities have emphasized that long-term supply guarantees for aircraft engines, spare parts, and critical components will be essential to completing the transaction.

Despite concerns about global conflicts and economic uncertainty, Boeing reported that airline activity remains healthy. Raymond said flight-hour growth across most regions continues at a modest to strong pace, supporting demand for maintenance services and aircraft modifications.

However, supply chain constraints remain a challenge. Boeing continues to face shortages of certain engine-related components and other specialized parts, including cockpit flight-deck windows, which have experienced extended delivery times.

To improve profitability and efficiency, Boeing Global Services is focusing on advanced analytics and operational improvements rather than workforce reductions. Raymond indicated that productivity gains, rather than layoffs, will be the primary tool for lowering costs.

The potential 200-aircraft order represents a major opportunity for Boeing as it works to strengthen its position in one of the world's largest aviation markets while navigating ongoing supply chain and geopolitical risks.
