Gyeonggi-do, South Korea – November 30, 2025 – Zuellig Pharma, a leading healthcare solutions provider in Asia, has officially inaugurated its Clinical Trial Support (CTS) Innovation Center in South Korea, marking a major step in advancing clinical logistics and trial innovation.
Strategically located near the Gyeongbu Expressway in Gyeonggi-do province, the 3,800-square-meter facility is set to become South Korea’s most advanced automated hub for clinical trial logistics. The center integrates automation, digitalization, and strict Good Practice (GxP) compliance to enhance operational efficiency, scalability, and reliability across multiple therapeutic areas.
“This milestone reflects Zuellig Pharma’s commitment to innovation and sustainable infrastructure, enabling greater access to treatments and delivering meaningful outcomes for patients and partners alike,” said John Graham, CEO of Zuellig Pharma.
The new center features a fully automated order fulfillment system designed to improve the speed, accuracy, and reliability of clinical supply delivery. Its flexible architecture ensures uninterrupted operations, while robust cybersecurity safeguards sensitive clinical trial data.
The facility supports a wide range of temperature-controlled environments, including ambient, cold, frozen, deep frozen, cryogenic, and return storage, allowing thousands of clinical trial SKUs to be managed with precision. Specialized repackaging areas meet stringent clinical and regulatory standards for ambient, cold, frozen, and amber-light conditions. An integrated end-to-end tracking and monitoring system ensures full chain-of-custody and traceability, reinforcing compliance and quality at every stage.
Giuseppe Leo, SVP and Clinical Trial Support Business Unit Lead at Zuellig Pharma, highlighted the strategic significance of the new facility:
“South Korea ranks among the top 10 clinical trials markets globally and holds the third-largest number of R&D pipelines. Our center has been built to meet this rising demand and redefine the management and distribution of investigational products, enabling reliable delivery of critical therapies worldwide.”
In the past year, the center has supported over 3,000 cumulative studies for more than 100 clients, handling approximately 13,000 outbound shipments including chemicals, biologics, medical devices, and cellular and gene therapies. The facility has collaborated with 14 of the world’s top 20 pharmaceutical companies and 8 of the top 10 global CROs, reinforcing Zuellig Pharma’s position as a trusted partner in global clinical research.
