India will kickstart their T20 World Cup title defence against the USA in Mumbai on February 7, as the ICC revealed the schedule for the 2026 edition on Tuesday, November 25. The tournament will open earlier in the day with a clash between Pakistan and the Netherlands in Colombo, while a West Indies vs. Bangladesh match will take place in Kolkata in between.
Due to an agreement established earlier this year for multi-nation tournaments hosted by India or Pakistan, the ICC has set alternate arrangements for the semifinals and final. If Pakistan reaches the final, both their semifinal and the final will be played in Colombo. However, if Pakistan does not make it to the final, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the final on March 8. Mumbai is set to host one semifinal, while Kolkata will host the other, provided Pakistan does not qualify for the knockouts.
