Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy technology, has announced its third-quarter 2025 non-financial results, demonstrating significant progress toward completing its Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSI) 2021–2025 program. With one quarter remaining, the company achieved a score of 8.52 out of 10, nearing its year-end target of 8.80.
Zero Carbon Project Surpasses Targets
A major highlight this quarter was the early completion of the Zero Carbon Project, which achieved a 53% average reduction in CO₂ emissions across operations of top suppliers, surpassing the 2025 ambition ahead of schedule. The initiative supports over 1,000 suppliers through decarbonization roadmaps, technical training, and renewable energy guidance.
Decarbonization Efforts Expand
Since 2018, Schneider Electric has helped customers save and avoid 792 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions, approaching its 2025 target of 800 million tonnes. During Climate Week NYC 2025, the company expanded its Scope 3 decarbonization efforts, enhancing supplier engagement and launching new industry collaborations. Key innovations include the AirSeT switchgear, recognized by the World Economic Forum for sustainable design, replacing SF₆ with pure air and vacuum technology to eliminate potent greenhouse gases.
Increasing Access to Green Energy
The company’s programs have provided over 60 million people with access to green electricity since 2009, exceeding its 2025 target. Distributed energy solutions, including microgrids, empower communities through local ownership and inclusive governance. Schneider Electric’s Sustainability Research Institute highlighted in a recent paper how energy democracy can drive systemic change and sustainable development.
Sustainability Recognition and Leadership
“Schneider Electric has been named the world’s most sustainable company three times this year,” said Esther Finidori, Chief Sustainability Officer. “Organizations are cutting emissions, technology is being deployed at scale, and people are driving change with purpose. Sustainability is becoming the core of how we operate, innovate, and collaborate. That’s where real transformation happens.”
