Madhya Bhotekoshi Hydropower Reports Profit in Q1 After Previous Year Loss

Financial Performance for First Quarter
Madhya Bhotekoshi Hydropower Company Limited (MBJC) has published its unaudited financial statements for the first quarter of the current fiscal year, showing a turnaround from a loss in the same period last year to a profit this year.

During the first three months, the company recorded a net profit of NPR 16.494 million, compared to a loss of NPR 11.6 million in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

Revenue and Operational Highlights
The company achieved profitability following the commencement of electricity production. By the end of Asoj, MBJC generated NPR 101.8 million in electricity sales revenue, having started commercial operations on 20th Asoj.

During the period:

  • Operating profit stood at NPR 58.6 million
  • Financial expenses were NPR 42.5 million

Earnings Per Share and Net Worth

  • Earnings per share (EPS): NPR 1.10
  • Net worth per share: NPR 93.89

Capital and Retained Earnings
The company has a paid-up capital of NPR 600 million, while retained earnings remain negative at NPR 37.83 million.

The first-quarter results reflect a successful transition to commercial electricity production, turning the company from loss to profit within the fiscal year.
