TeamViewer Launches Agentless Access to Strengthen Security and Simplify Industrial Remote Operations

TeamViewer Germany GmbH, a global leader in digital workplace and connectivity solutions, has announced the launch of Agentless Access, a new feature within its enterprise platform, TeamViewer Tensor, designed to enhance cybersecurity and streamline remote operations across industrial environments. The announcement was made at the Gartner IT Symposium in Barcelona.

The newly introduced Agentless Access enables manufacturers and machine builders (OEMs) to remotely manage and troubleshoot operational technology (OT) systems—including human-machine interfaces (HMIs), legacy systems, and closed devices—without installing software on each device. This advancement reduces complexity for IT and OT teams while maintaining strict security and compliance standards.

TeamViewer Tensor, already trusted by clients like Schwäbische Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH for remote PLC programming, is now fully optimized for industrial applications. The integration of Agentless Access with Tensor’s Hybrid Conditional Access provides manufacturers with secure, flexible, and controlled connectivity across segmented networks, ensuring safer and more efficient production workflows.

As factories modernize and interconnect, cybersecurity threats to industrial systems have surged. Agentless Access addresses these vulnerabilities by enforcing zero-trust remote access, protocol isolation, and granular access controls, backed by comprehensive audit logging. This allows IT teams to maintain governance and visibility, while OT teams retain full operational safety and control.

“IT and OT have different goals, but they share the same challenge: keeping operations secure and running,” said Caroline Hempfing, Director of Product Management at TeamViewer. “Agentless Access bridges that gap by providing a reliable, compliant, and secure way for manufacturers to connect to critical systems remotely — a must in today’s connected production landscape.”

TeamViewer will showcase Agentless Access and other innovations for secure remote industrial operations at upcoming events, including Smart Remote Service in Berlin and Microsoft Ignite in San Francisco, highlighting how manufacturers can boost both cybersecurity and operational efficiency.
