Haleon Appoints Vindi Banga as New Chair, Succeeding Dave Lewis

British consumer-health company Haleon announced on Monday that it has appointed Vindi Banga as its new chair, succeeding Dave Lewis, who will step down to become chief executive of U.K. drinks group Diageo.

Lewis is set to step down as chair and director on December 31, with Banga assuming the role from January 1. Banga has served as Haleon’s senior independent director since the company’s listing in 2022.

“The board was unanimous in its appointment of Vindi given his wealth of global corporate and commercial leadership experience,” the company said. Banga spent 33 years at Unilever, holding multiple executive positions.

He currently serves as chair of U.K. Government Investments and is a partner at private investment firm CD&R. Banga is also chair of council at Imperial College London and previously served as senior independent director at GSK and Marks & Spencer.

This leadership transition highlights Haleon’s commitment to experienced governance as it navigates growth in the consumer-health sector.
