The IPO allotment of Sopan Pharmaceuticals Limited was completed today at the office of the issue manager, NMB Capital Limited, located in Baluwatar, Kathmandu.
The company had issued 34,74,900 units of shares to the general public through its Initial Public Offering (IPO) from 3rd Baishakh to 8th Baishakh, 2083.
Sopan Pharmaceuticals has an issued capital of Rs. 1.71 Arba, out of which 25%, equivalent to 42,90,000 unit shares, is allocated to the public.
From the total public offering:
- 4,29,000 unit shares were reserved for Nepalese citizens working abroad.
- 1,71,600 unit shares were allocated to company employees.
- 2,14,500 unit shares were reserved for mutual funds.
- The remaining 34,74,900 unit shares were issued to the general public.
The IPO received overwhelming investor interest, with a total of 27,30,987 valid applications requesting 2,99,06,520 units of shares. Meanwhile, 37,756 applications for 4,60,430 units were rejected due to various disqualifications.
According to the allotment results, 3,47,490 applicants were allotted 10 units each through a lottery system.

Meanwhile, CARE Ratings Nepal Limited has upgraded the issuer rating of Sopan Pharmaceuticals Limited from “CARE-NP B- (Is)” to “CARE-NP B (Is),” indicating a high risk of default. The agency also revised the company’s long-term bank facility rating to “CARE-NP B” while reaffirming its short-term bank facility rating at “CARE-NP A4.”
Established in 2009, Sopan Pharmaceuticals Limited manufactures generic and cephalosporin medicines from its production facility in Lalitpur, Nepal. The company currently holds licenses for 139 types of drugs for manufacturing and 70 types for marketing.
